I recently found this sweet Walt Disney World marriage proposal over on How He Asked
(a great site if you love reading mushy engagement stories … and who
doesn’t?). But what really stuck out to me was the custom MagicBands!
Here’s an excerpt from How He Asked about the MagicBands marriage proposal:
Liam presented me hand painted custom bride and groom style
MagicBands, a custom laser engraved MagicBand box which served as the
ring box (both projects that he partnered with other Disney Cast Members
to create), and the most beautiful engagement ring in the entire world.
The MagicBand box read the question “Will You Marry Me?”. Next thing I
know Liam got down one knee and after cutely expressing his love and
asked me if I was ready for the next generation of our lives together.
Of course I said yes! It was then we became the first known MyMagic+
engagement in Disney history. Our MyProposal+ is a memory we will
cherish forever.
So creative and so sweet! Please visit How He Asked
to read the entire story of Liam and Jenna’s engagement and see a ton
of pictures from this really thoughtful and elaborate proposal

In my time, I have visited Disney enough to know the general “do’s and
don’ts” of a Walt Disney World vacation. It only takes one day of
wearing the wrong shoes or not having something you need to never forget
that item ever again. Here are my go-to tips of what to pack and wear
to ensure a smooth Disney day.

6. Broken in shoes :
I have worn them before and I will never do it again. Wearing new
shoes to walk around Walt Disney World will, no doubt, lead to blisters
and aching feet. Making sure to pack well broken in shoes is a must for
this vacation. Your feet will surely thank you. This theme park vacation
requires more walking than you might think.

5. Quick dry clothes:
Especially for those summer months, (and remember that Florida is the
“state of endless summer”), I recommend packing quick dry clothing.
You’ll be happy you did. This includes spandex clothing, gym shorts, and
super-absorbent shirts. When you walk outside and feel like you’ve
entered Mordor, (excuse the Lord of the Rings reference), Splash
Mountain, Kali River Rapids, and water sprinkler stations will be your
saving graces. To stay cool and as dry as possible, quick-dry clothes
will be one thing you won’t want to forget to pack.

4. Dress in layers:
For colder weather, (yes, there are some chilly days here), I would
advise you to wear layers. Mornings can be brisk, while afternoons may
be hot and humid. Packing a light jacket for mornings and nights will be
perfect for the wide range of possible temperatures. Disney, very
thankfully, also likes their air conditioning, so having a light jacket
with you for restaurants and indoor rides will save you from freezing on
your vacation.

3. Bags for dirty/wet clothes:
For those days you’ll be riding water rides, (Splash Mountain, Kali
River Rapids, etc.), I recommend packing bags for your wet clothes if
you plan on changing them. Instead of having your family complain about
walking around with mushy, wet shoes and socks, just pack extras and
change. Also, bring more of these bags for your dirty clothes that you
wear on vacation. If you’re like me and tend to over-pack, I would
advise you to put your dirty clothes in separate bags back at your hotel
and keep your clean clothes together. It’s a great way to keep
organized and lessen the amount of laundry you’ll have to do when you
get home after your vacation.

2. Waterproof flip-flops:
Most days in Florida have warm and occasionally rainy weather, so I
would definitely pack some cheap flip flops to wear when it rains.
There’s nothing worse than walking around with wet sneakers and socks
all day in the aftermath of a 30 minute Floridian “monsoon,” as I like
to call them. Packing these flip flops in your bag will prepare you for
whatever weather is in store for your vacation. These flip flops are
also perfect for a trip to the pool or water parks.
